For this assignment, we were required to create a story with the use of only 15 still shots with a partner, which all had to be used in order to make the story meaningful and entertaining.
On this assignment both me and my partner decided to make a story of a CD player that terrorized lone CD's by hunting and eating them. The way in which we constructed the story felt good and entertaining. We tried to think of ways that could make the CD player have some type scary look, so in one our shots we used a low angle to reinforce this look. We tried several other things that turned out great like a P.O.V. shot that gave a great perspective of what the CD player was looking at. The way in which we constructed the story felt good Overall, we felt that we did pretty good but there were some things that we definitely lacked.
I felt that our approach was good but there are some things that were not in our favor. There were several shots that were mislabeled which I mainly felt was because we had our proportions off, it felt confusing at times. There also felt lack of creativity that could have been better disguised by better shot taking and composition. An example of this would be slide 7, where the disc is standing up but there isn't anything to illustrate that the disc is frightened. Luckily, its made me realize that over time these skills will develop and allow me to better understand a shot much more in-depth, as well as composition.
